Bringing to you the very current and topical issue of mental health, ILN presents a highly practical and interactive session delivered by Jane McNeice and Andy Macfarlane from Mind Matters.

Course Aims:

  • To understand what mental health is and its prevalence within schools
  • To understand the wider context around mental health and how Government is supporting it in schools
  • To find out how you can support positive mental health in schools with a whole school approach
  • To understand how you can improve mental health with small changes and the help of other resources
  • To identify next steps…

  • SENCOS, Inclusion Leads, Head Teachers, teachers, teaching assistants, and all those with an interest young people’s mental health – everyone!

 Jane and Andy will be sharing their knowledge of mental health, helping you to understand what it is, the impact it is having on our schools, and how we can all be champions for positive change in mental health.

Jane is a professional trainer in mental health, running her own training company, Mind Matters, which delivers to leading business names in the UK.  She is also an associate trainer for Mental Health First Aid England, delivering a range of MHFA courses, including the 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid training, and 1 day MHFA for Schools & Colleges courses.

Andy is a qualified clinician and works with Mind Matters, alongside his clinical work with his own company Condition Management Partners, which provides specialist healthcare to support to people with health conditions. CMP provide clinically derived Health and Well-being services across the welfare-to-work sector, and are a leading independent provider in re-ablement therapy services.
